As a scriptwriter, director and cameraman, Eli Laliberté has worked on several documentary projects, including Le temps d’une chasse (2007), a personal project that was presented in Paris, among other places. In the same capacities he has been part of large-scale series, such as Architects of Change, recognized for their quality. His endeavors as a cameraman and photo director have been more numerous and diversified still. His sensitivity and openness lend his projects a unique signature. In recent years he has literally been all around the world with his camera for one or another of the projects he has worked on.
EXHIBIT PRESENTED AT THE RENCONTRES: LES ARTISANS DU CHANGEMENT EN PHOTOGRAPHIES (ARCHITECTS OF CHANGE IN PHOTOGRAPHS)
Eli Laliberté presents photos he took on the fly during shooting of the Productions Vic Pelletier series Architects of Change. Most of the photos were taken on the move, or with a video camera in one hand and a still camera in the other. On his still camera he used a 28 mm fixed lens, for greater discretion. Eli Laliberté loves the human being, and strives to blend into his universe, to be in communion with his world. Which is what he tries to do as a documentarian and what he has attempted to do, by extension, with his camera.
