The invisible, what links us to others, to nature, to what is most profound in ourselves and to what lies beyond it. Flora seizes that reality in the private, in silent presences, in expanses, in suspended time. She seeks the movement of life in the looming up of images, in perturbance. Self-portraits, journeys – her approach is autobiographical, the only pathway to achieving and revealing a perceptible truth.

EXHIBIT AT THE RENCONTRES: ISTHME (ISTHMUS)

January 2009. Tasmania via Hong Kong and Sidney. She’s off to meet him. They travel together. With a Polaroid, she photographs the places passed through, the presences, poetic visions from which the inexpressible surfaces. Bodies and landscapes merge.

Isthmus. Geography: narrow neck of land connecting two larger land areas with water on both sides. / Anatomy: a constriction between two larger parts of an organ (isthmus of the fauces, the rhombencephalon, the uterus).
